Russian television network Domashny has wrapped up production on a new four-episode melodrama titled “Ty moya pervaya lyubov” (“You Are My First Love”), according to a press release from the channel. The series centers on Veronika, a woman whose seemingly stable life unravels after her stepson introduces his acquaintance, Yaroslav, into their home.
Plot Dynamics and Production Details
According to Domashny, Veronika initially possesses everything associated with domestic happiness: a handsome house, a successful husband, and a peaceful family. That existence shatters when her stepson, Danya, brings home Yaroslav. Veronika recognizes Yaroslav as both her first love and the biological father of her son, a fact Danya does not know. Veronika leaves her husband and routine behind to pursue a future with her past, but instead loses her home, her son, and her footing.
Actress Anastasia Sorokina, who stars as Veronika, described her character’s motivations in press materials provided by the network. “Veronika grew up early,” Sorokina stated, noting that raising a young son without support forged a hyper-independent habit that dictates her choices. “First love isn’t forgotten easily… Love is a huge reserve of tenderness and warmth, but a lot depends on whether a person is ready to accept it.”
Actor Alexey Vakulov plays the antagonist Yaroslav. According to Vakulov, his character appears charming and charismatic at first glance, but hides a weak, envious core beneath a polished exterior. “He constantly schemes, twists things, and lies,” Vakulov said of the role. “And when something doesn’t go according to his plan, everyone is to blame except him.”
The four-part mini-series is directed by Stanislav Mareev. Cinematography was handled by Igor Rukin, while Natalya Chabanenko served as production designer.
Cast Backgrounds
Anastasia Sorokina brings an extensive background in television and theater to the project. Her early television career included hosting children's news programs at age 13, followed by stints on MTV Russia, OTR, and various lifestyle broadcasts. She also performed in the Moscow Musical Comedy Theatre production of "Vremena ne vybirayut."
Vakulov established a presence in Russian television primarily through detective series and investigative dramas, including roles in "Granitsa vremeni," "Tajny gospodji Kirsanovoy," and "Anna-detektiv."
