Dortmund Counter-Protests Target Far-Right Events and Oidoxie Band Connections

The mobilization formed part of a wider weekend of civil society opposition against extremist networking attempts in the city. Kim Schmidt, a spokesperson for Autonome Antifa 170, stated that the far-right gathering served as an effort to recruit and agitate young people toward extremist ideologies. Organizers reported that the 2.5-hour demonstration concluded without incident on Wilhelmplatz.
Historical Links to Militant Networks Examined
Critics at the demonstration focused heavily on the historical and personal ties between the band Oidoxie and militant right-wing extremist structures. Schmidt noted that members of Oidoxie maintained close historical proximity to extremist networks, pointing to the formation of the Oidoxie Streetfighting Crew within their orbit. According to the organizers, that structure later fed into a Combat 18 cell in Dortmund that acquired firearms and organized shooting drills.
Schmidt added that the band participated in activities connected to the Combat 18 terror network more than two decades ago and contributed an anthem to the group. Civil society groups argue that such musical and commercial events remain critical recruitment tools for a local extremist scene that organizers describe as shrinking in size.
Civil Society Mobilization Across the Weekend
The Saturday march followed an initial protest on Friday, July 31, 2026, when a broad alliance from Dortmund’s civil society staged a protest rave to counter a monthly “open evening” held by the party, which brings younger recruits into contact with older cadres. Organizers thanked participants across both days and stated that local groups intend to continue monitoring and opposing far-right activities in Dorstfeld.
