## Drew McIntyre Faced with Aggressive Fan During Backstage Meet-and-Greet
WWE Superstar Drew McIntyre recently recounted a surprising and slightly unsettling encounter with an overzealous fan during a backstage meet-and-greet, as reported in an interview with TMZ Sports.
According too McIntyre, he was asked to meet a fan who had won a raffle at a recent show. Initially, McIntyre suggested that Cody Rhodes, currently enjoying a significant push with fans, would be a better choice, stating Rhodes is “a big good guy,” while he considers himself “kind of controversial in-the-middle guy.” However, event officials insisted on him meeting the fan.Upon meeting the fan, McIntyre described a shocking turn of events. “And the guy came back and lunged at me and did say ‘That’s Cody’s title!'” he explained. “Swung at me and security had to get between us.” Despite the initial aggression, McIntyre managed to de-escalate the situation and pose for a picture with the fan and the WWE Championship. However, the fan’s frustration wasn’t quelled by the photo prospect. McIntyre continued, “He was really, genuinely upset. It was great… But as I knew he was so legitimately upset, as soon as we took the picture, he started mouthing off again.” Responding to the continued outburst, McIntyre playfully taunted the fan, raising the title and exclaiming “Ah ha ha ha ha ha!” before quickly leaving the area.
Despite the incident, McIntyre expressed a preference for passionate fans, even those who express their displeasure, over apathetic ones. He also believes that most fans become engrossed in the show itself. He jokingly added, “And if they’re not, eventually drew McIntyre takes off his kilt and they get very excited.”
As of January 24, 2026, there have been no reports of the fan being banned from future WWE events.
