Hanford Crash Leaves One Dead, Eight Injured

HANFORD, Calif. — A woman driving a UTV was killed, and eight others were injured in a collision near Hanford on Saturday evening, March 14, 2026. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) is investigating the crash, with alcohol and/or drugs suspected as contributing factors.

Details of the Crash

The incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. On Dover Avenue, west of Highway 43. According to CHP reports, a woman was driving a 2020 Polaris Ranger UTV eastbound with five passengers. Simultaneously, another woman was driving a 2019 Toyota Camry westbound with two passengers and began to pass the UTV.

For reasons still under investigation, the driver of the Polaris initiated a left turn while the Toyota was in the process of passing. This resulted in a collision where the left side of the Polaris struck the front right of the Toyota.

Injuries and Medical Response

The driver of the Polaris was ejected from the vehicle and sustained fatal injuries. Two additional occupants were also ejected.

The five adult passengers in the Polaris suffered minor to moderate injuries. One was transported to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno, and another was taken to Adventist Medical Center in Hanford for treatment.

The driver and passengers of the Toyota sustained minor to moderate injuries and received medical attention at the scene from emergency personnel.

Investigation and Potential Causes

CHP officials have indicated that alcohol and/or drugs are suspected to have played a role in the crash. The investigation is ongoing to determine the exact cause of the incident.
