Potomac Shores Shooting Leaves One Dead, Several Injured
Dumfries, VA – A shooting at a basketball court in the Potomac Shores community on Monday evening left one 18-year-old dead and four others injured, according to Prince William County Police. The incident occurred around 5:30 p.m. In the 1800 block of Potomac Shores Parkway.
Details of the Shooting
Investigators report that a confrontation between two groups of people playing basketball escalated into a shooting. Officers arrived on the scene to find one victim already present. A second shooting victim was discovered at a home on Spring Cress Drive, and three additional individuals sought medical attention at nearby hospitals.
Victim Identified
The deceased has been identified as Louis Anthony Boone, 18, of Dumfries. The four surviving victims include a 20-year-old man from Woodbridge, a 16-year-old boy from Dumfries, and two 17-year-old boys from Woodbridge. All are expected to recover from their injuries. Police Investigation
Several individuals were initially detained for questioning as detectives worked to determine the circumstances leading to the shooting.
