East Greenwich residents have a new resource for staying informed about local happenings. The East Greenwich News has integrated a new calendar application powered by CitySpark, offering a comprehensive listing of events in the community. Event organizers can submit events for free, with options for paid promotion to increase visibility.

• March 16: Redistricting Public Info Session – A public forum to discuss the elementary school redistricting plan will be held at 6 p.m. At Cole Middle School. Further details can be found on the East Greenwich News website, including a recording of a previous virtual forum from January 20, 2026, and access to the EGPS Redistricting Website and a Feedback/Question Form.
• March 17: School Committee Meeting – The School Committee will meet at 6 p.m. In the library at Cole Middle School. The agenda includes a presentation of a new demographic study and a budget hearing. The agenda and a Zoom link are available online.
• March 19: Happy St. Joseph’s Day!
• March 21: Community Walk – A community walk, sponsored by the Bob Houghtaling Foundation, will take place at 10 a.m., meeting in the Swift Community Center parking lot. The walks are held the third Saturday of each month from March through November.
• March 21: The Sharing Locker – The Westminster Unitarian Church will offer basic goods (excluding food) to those in require from 10 a.m. To noon at 119 Kenyon Avenue.
• March 23: Town Council Meeting (w/Planning Board) – A joint session of the Town Council and Planning Board will be held at 7 p.m. In Council Chambers at Town Hall for a public hearing on the town’s draft Comprehensive Plan. The agenda and Zoom link will be available closer to the meeting date.

• March 30: School Construction Groundbreaking Ceremony – A formal groundbreaking ceremony for the town’s $160 million school construction project will be held at 10 a.m. At East Greenwich High School.

• April 7: East Greenwich Art Club Meeting – Jamie Derr, an artist affiliated with The Collaborative in Warren, Oil Painters of America, the Rhode Island Watercolor Society, and the Portsmouth Arts Guild, will present and discuss her art. The meeting will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. At the United Methodist Church, 1558 South County Trail. Newcomers are welcome. More information about the club can be found online.
