Eddie Harte, Cherished Family Man, Passes Away in Sligo

Culleens, County Sligo, is mourning the loss of Eddie Harte, who passed away peacefully at his home on February 28, 2026, surrounded by his wife, Eileen, and family, following a brief illness. He was formerly of Grangebeg, Skreen, Co. Sligo.

A Life Filled with Love and Family

Eddie Harte was a beloved husband to Eileen and a devoted father to O’Neill, Quentin, and Elaine. His passing leaves a significant void in the lives of his heartbroken wife, sons, and daughter.

Remembered Fondly

Mr. Harte is remembered fondly by those who knew him. He is predeceased by his parents, Patrick and Bridget Harte, as well as his in-laws, John and Mary O’Neill. He is also survived by his sister, Annie, and a legacy of love embodied in his adored grandchildren: Ethan, Evan, Rachel, Rebecca, Rory, Aisling, Dara, and Tom Edward.

Family and Friends

He is also survived by his brothers Tommy, Paddy, and Josie, sister-in-law Mary, brother-in-law Raymond, and nephew John, all of whom passed before him. The outpouring of support from in-laws, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbors, and friends speaks to the impact he had on his community.

Funeral Arrangements

Reposing will grab place at his home (Eircode F26 WP99) on Sunday, March 1st, and Monday, March 2nd, from 4pm to 8pm, offering an opportunity for friends and neighbors to pay their respects. The Funeral will arrive to the Church of the Holy Family, Kilglass on Tuesday, March 3rd, for 12 o’clock Requiem Mass, followed by burial in St Patrick’s Cemetery, Kilglass. Eddie’s Funeral Mass will be live streamed.

The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the North West Hospice, a cause close to their hearts. Contributions can be made online or through Gerard Clarke & Sons Funeral Directors in Ballisodare, Co. Sligo.
