Taipei Celebrates Eid al-Fitr with Cultural Festival in Daan Park

Taipei will host its annual Eid al-Fitr celebration this Sunday, March 22, 2026, at Daan Park, offering a vibrant showcase of Muslim culture, cuisine, and performances. The event, designed to promote multicultural inclusion, aims to highlight the traditions of migrant workers and provide Taipei residents with an opportunity to experience Indonesia’s rich cultural diversity. The festivities will run from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Halal Bazaar and Culinary Delights

Starting at Entrance 9 of Daan Park, a halal bazaar will feature stalls offering cuisine and handicrafts from various Muslim cultures, including Turkey and Morocco. Visitors can enjoy international dishes and shop for cultural items. Attendees who bring their own eco-friendly tableware will receive a NT$5 discount on purchases of NT$100 or more.

Cultural Workshops and Experiences

Three themed workshops will be held to showcase Muslim multiculturalism. These include an Islamic calligraphy experience, a Turkish Ebru art experience, and a Ketupat charm do-it-yourself workshop. While the Turkish Ebru art experience and Ketupat charm workshop are currently fully registered, standby enrollment will be available from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM on the day of the event. The Islamic calligraphy experience is open to walk-ins.

Stage Performances

The event will feature live performances from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, including Indonesian singer Feby Putri, Taiwanese-Indonesian singer Kelly Cheng, and the Gema Angklung group. Dance performances will be presented by Asad Oriental Dance and Pharoah Bellydance. The stage event will also be broadcast live on Taipei Travel’s Facebook page, with a contest offering an Apple iPhone 16e 128G and NT$500 in 7-Eleven gift vouchers to viewers who share the live broadcast and include the hashtag “#2026eidalfitrintaipei.”

Interactive Cultural Zone

An interactive cultural experience zone, themed “Southern Breeze Across the City — Celebrate Eid Together,” will be located at Exit 4 of Daan Park. Participants can engage in activities and win small gifts.

Growing Muslim Community in Taipei

The event recognizes the significant Muslim population in Taipei, which includes over 30,000 Indonesian migrant workers, according to the Department of Labor Commissioner Wang Chiu-tung. The city’s efforts to promote a Muslim-friendly tourism environment are reflected in this annual celebration.
