Elena Carrière Introduces Partner and Reveals Father’s Cancer Battle
Former “Germany’s Next Topmodel” candidate Elena Carrière (29) has publicly introduced her partner, Nick Mulder (35), and shared a personal update regarding her father, actor Mathieu Carrière (75), who is battling prostate cancer.
Recent Relationship and Public Debut
Carrière revealed her relationship with entrepreneur Nick Mulder on Instagram, sharing a series of couple photos. Previously, she had refrained from showing her partner’s face. “Here you are,” she wrote, reflecting on their two and a half years together. “I can’t believe two and a half years have already flown by with you.” She described their relationship as filled with laughter, tears, and growth, calling Mulder her soulmate – “the one I never knew I wanted.”
The decision to publicly share photos of Mulder was linked to a joint business venture. “As some of you know, we founded a company together, which means that everyone can now uncover Nick online and see who he is,” Carrière explained. The couple announced their brand, “solio,” in October 2025.
How They Met
Carrière shared the story of how they met in an interview with Bunte magazine. Her mother, concerned about her happiness, created a profile for her on the online dating platform Hinge, despite Carrière having never used online dating before. A week later, she agreed to a dog walk with Mulder at her mother’s urging. The connection deepened on their second date.
Father’s Cancer Diagnosis
During the interview with Bunte, Carrière also disclosed that her father, Mathieu Carrière, is undergoing treatment for prostate cancer. She noted a change in her father’s demeanor since his diagnosis, describing him as more peaceful, receptive, and “age-milder.”
Shared Interests and Future Plans
Mulder, a start-up entrepreneur, was initially unaware of Carrière’s background or her father’s fame, stating he didn’t even have an Instagram account at the time. Carrière also mentioned that her partner gets along well with her father, and they share a common hobby: chess.
The couple has also discussed starting a family, but Carrière is currently not ready to become a mother. “So we decided to have another baby together – and founded a company that belongs to both of us and that we both want and love,” Mulder explained.
