Elizabeth Taber Library Announces February & March Events: Makerspace Workshop, Chinese Acrobatics, and More
The Elizabeth Taber Library in Marion, Massachusetts, is hosting a series of events for adults, teens, and families throughout February and March. These include a hands-on Makerspace Workshop, a captivating performance of Traditions of Chinese Acrobatics, and ongoing programs like storytimes and book clubs.
Makerspace Workshop: Herbal Sachet Creation
Adults and teens are invited to participate in a Makerspace Workshop on Thursday, February 26, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Participants will learn to create aromatic herbal sachets using the library’s sewing machine. All materials will be provided, and the workshop will be guided by library staff. RSVP is required to reserve a spot.
Traditions of Chinese Acrobatics
Save the date for March 28 at 1:00 PM for a performance of Traditions of Chinese Acrobatics, featuring performer Li Liu. The show will be held at the Marion Music Hall and is hosted by the Elizabeth Taber Library with funding support from the Marion Cultural Council.
Ongoing Library Programs
The Elizabeth Taber Library offers a variety of ongoing programs for all ages, including:
- Lapsit Storytime: For babies and toddlers up to 24 months and their caregivers.
- Family Storytime: For children ages 0-5 and their caregivers.
- Creative Writing Club: For kids in grades 1-6.
- YA Craft & Chill Club: For young adults in grades 6-12.
- Tween Takeover: For tweens in grades 5-7.
- Messy Morning: For preschoolers and toddlers.
- YA Game Night: For young adults in grades 6-12.
- Cozy Cup Book Club: A book club discussing “Vera Wong’s Guide to Snooping on a Dead Man”
Winter Reading Program
The library is also running an adult winter reading program. Participants can earn raffle tickets by checking out books, attending programs, and writing book reviews, with weekly drawings held every Friday.
