ESU Women’s Wrestling Recognized for Academic Excellence with NWCA Award

MANHEIM, Pa. — East Stroudsburg University (ESU) women’s wrestling has been honored with the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Team Scholar All-America Award for the 2025-26 season. The Warriors achieved the 11th-highest team GPA among all NCAA women’s wrestling programs .

Academic Achievement Highlights

ESU’s women’s wrestling team distinguished itself with a GPA of 3.7935, marking the highest team GPA among all Region 2 teams. This recognition underscores the program’s commitment to academic and athletic excellence. 13 ESU wrestlers were individually recognized as NWCA Scholar All-Americans .

NWCA Recognition

The NWCA announced the Scholar Team Award recipients on March 21, 2026, acknowledging teams that excel academically during the women’s wrestling season. According to NWCA Executive Director Mike Moyer, earning this recognition “reflects a program that is fully aligned with the mission of developing excellence both academically and athletically” .

Saint John’s University Wrestlers As well Honored

In addition to ESU’s achievements, three student-athletes from Saint John’s University also earned NWCA Scholar All-America honors on March 19, 2026 .

National Scope of Recognition

The NWCA recognized a total of 543 student-athletes from 85 institutions nationwide as Scholar All-Americans, demonstrating a broad commitment to academic success within the sport of women’s wrestling . ESU represented the sixth-most students across all programs.
