Ethan Page’s run in WWE NXT, which kicked off in May 2024, transformed him into a dual-title holder. Over the course of his tenure, he secured both the NXT Championship and the North American Championship. Perhaps most memorable was his custom North American title, a belt redesigned to reflect his Canadian roots.
The Houston Reveal
The origin of the custom strap was entirely internal. “The idea had nothing to do with me. It was presented to me,” Page revealed during an appearance on “Insight with Chris Van Vliet.” He noted the unveiling occurred in private just before a show in Houston, Texas. When he finally brought the hardware to the ring for a promo segment, the reaction from the Texas crowd was immediate. Page recalled the audience’s response as one of “vehement patriotism,” an intensity that fueled the debut of the belt.
Preserving a Piece of History
For Page, the title represents a singular chapter in his professional life. “I don’t think anyone’s ever going to get that belt again,” he said. While he briefly left the championship at the WWE Performance Center once his reign ended, the title is currently tucked away at his home.
Transition to the Main Roster
Following that loss, he shifted his focus to the WWE main roster. He maintains that his time in NXT was instrumental in raising the championship’s profile during his tenure.
