European intelligence reports indicate that Russia is planning a series of sabotage operations and attacks across Europe aimed at dividing societies and intimidating nations into withdrawing support for Ukraine. EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas issued the warning on Monday ahead of a meeting of European Union defense ministers in Brussels, urging member states to remain vigilant and intercept threats before they materialize.

Intelligence Points to Escalating Russian Sabotage Risks in Europe

“We need to be vigilant because we see in the intelligence that Russia is planning more sabotage acts and attacks against our democracy – to divide our society, to intimidate our societies (into) refraining to help Ukraine,” Kallas stated on Monday. In addition to warnings about sabotage, Kallas called on European capitals to urgently supply Ukraine with interceptor missiles for Patriot air defense systems.

Kharkiv Bombing and Frontline Fighting in Donetsk

The security warnings coincided with intensified aerial bombardments inside Ukraine. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky accused Moscow of terrorizing civilians after a guided Russian aerial bomb struck an apartment building in Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second-biggest city, on Monday. “Anywhere in the world, this choice of targets would be called by one word – terrorism,” Zelensky said, describing the strikes as an attempt to break public morale.

Meanwhile, fierce ground battles continue along the eastern front, particularly in the Donetsk region. Russian forces have maintained sustained pressure to capture the remaining Ukrainian-held fortress cities of Slovyansk and Kramatorsk. Despite enduring heavy personnel losses through frontal assaults, Russian forces have made only marginal territorial gains as Ukrainian units defend the fortified belt.

Cross-Border Infrastructure Strikes in Bryansk

As aerial and ground campaigns grind on, the conflict has continued to produce disruptions within Russian territory. Ukrainian drones launched three separate strikes targeting railway infrastructure in the Russian border region of Bryansk. Egor Kovalchuk, Bryansk’s acting governor, reported on Monday that the attacks collapsed part of a railway bridge and derailed nearly 30 carriages and wagons. Regional officials stated that no injuries occurred during the infrastructure strikes, though Reuters could not immediately verify the local governor’s assertions.
