Former Bima City Police Chief Detained on Drug and Corruption Charges
Jakarta – Former Bima City Police Chief AKBP Didik Putra Kuncoro (DPK) is in custody after being arrested by the National Police’s Narcotics Crime Directorate (Bareskrim) on February 19, 2026. The arrest follows a dismissal from the police force and allegations of both drug possession and receiving substantial funds linked to narcotics trafficking.
Dismissal and Drug Possession
AKBP Didik was dishonorably discharged from the National Police following a code of ethics hearing. Immediately after the hearing, Bareskrim Polri detained him in connection with drug possession. According to Brigadier General Eko Hadi Santoso, Director of Narcotics Crimes at Bareskrim Polri, the detention began on Thursday, February 19, 2026. Metrotvnews and Detik News reported on the immediate detention.
The seized evidence included 16.3 grams of methamphetamine, 49 ecstasy pills (with two remnants), 19 aprazolam pills, two happy five pills, and 5 grams of ketamine. JPNN detailed the quantities of drugs found.
Allegations of Receiving Funds from Narcotics Trafficking
Beyond the drug possession charges, AKBP Didik is also accused of receiving IDR 2.8 billion (approximately $183,000 USD as of February 19, 2026) from narcotics proceeds. The West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Regional Police’s Narcotics Directorate is investigating this aspect of the case.
The investigation revealed that AKP M (Maulamgi), the former Head of the Bima City Police Narcotics Unit, allegedly transferred the funds to Didik between June and November 2025. AKP M reportedly met with a drug dealer, Koh Erwin, and a treasurer, AS, to arrange the payments. Detik News outlined the flow of funds.
Investigation Timeline
The case began with the arrest of two individuals, YI and HR, on January 24, 2026, with 30,415 grams of methamphetamine. The investigation subsequently linked them to Bripka IR’s wife, AN, who then implicated AKP Malaungi in narcotics trafficking.
AKP Malaungi was arrested on February 3, 2026, with 488,496 grams of crystal methamphetamine in his possession. He confessed to passing funds to AKBP Didik.
The narcotics were found in a suitcase secured by Didik’s former subordinate, Aipda Dianita Agustina, at Didik’s residence in Tangerang. Aipda Dianita and Didik’s wife, Miranti Afriana, both tested positive for drug use and are undergoing rehabilitation. Metrotvnews provided details on the sequence of events.
