Arraignment and Charges for the Gateway-Area Stabbing
Edgar Solorio Lopez was arraigned on August 10, 2026, in Lane County Circuit Court on charges related to the August 7 killing of Glen Thulesen, according to The Register-Guard. Court documents state that Lopez is accused of second-degree murder for unlawfully and intentionally causing Thulesen’s death.
The Springfield Police Department received a report of a stabbing at approximately 2 p.m. on August 7, 2026, in the 2800 block of Gateway Street, as reported by KVAL. Responding officers found Thulesen outside a business with life-threatening injuries and rendered aid until medical personnel arrived. Medics transported him to a nearby hospital, where he subsequently died.
