Florida Atlantic Coaches Show to Feature Women’s Basketball and Track & Field Leadership

BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic Coaches Show, presented by Duffy’s Sports Grill, will be held on Thursday, Feb. 19, at Duffy’s Sports Grill of Boca Raton, located at 21212 St. Andrews Boulevard. The show will air from 6-7 p.m. On Fox Sports 640 South Florida.

This week’s show will be hosted by Frank Forte, the Host/Producer of Inside the Owls’ Burrow TV Show, and will feature Head Women’s Basketball Coach LeAnn Freeland and Head Cross Country & Women’s Track & Field Coach Alex Smolka.

Women’s Basketball Update

The Florida Atlantic women’s basketball team has recently achieved success, winning three of their last four games against UAB, Wichita State, and Tulsa. The Owls are preparing for their next game against the South Florida Bulls on Saturday, Feb. 21, with a 7 p.m. Tipoff at the Yuengling Center, which will be broadcast on ESPN+.

Track & Field Season Highlights

Alex Smolka, who has been with Florida Atlantic for 34 years and has led the cross country and track & field programs since 2002, will also be discussing the team’s progress. The Owls have started the 2026 indoor track and field season with multiple new program records and personal bests. FAU will compete in the 2026 American Conference Indoor Championships in Birmingham on Feb. 27-28, followed by the start of the outdoor season on March 21 at the University of Miami in Coral Gables.
