Faye Shortt: From Limerick Roots to International Comedy Stages

Faye Shortt, a 27-year-old performer originally from Limerick, Ireland, is currently making waves in the comedy scene, touring internationally with her show, Shortt Stuff, while balancing a career in radio. Her journey, rooted in a childhood passion for acting, has led to a diverse career encompassing live performance, writing, and broadcasting.

Early Life and Training

Shortt’s interest in performing arts began in her youth. She pursued formal training by auditioning for and attending The Gaiety School of Acting, as well as the Bow Street Academy for Screen Acting . Graduating during the COVID-19 pandemic brought her back to her hometown of Limerick, where she began collaborating with her father, Pat Shortt.

Comedy Partnership and Shortt Stuff

During the pandemic, Faye and her father began creating comedy sketches, which evolved into a full-fledged live comedy show. Shortt Stuff has since taken them across Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, and London . As of February 2026, they are continuing their tour, bringing their unique brand of humor to audiences worldwide.

Radio and Television Work

Alongside her comedy work, Shortt is a radio presenter on Spin 1038, hosting a show weekdays from 7pm to 10pm . She has also presented for RTÉ on shows like Junk Kouture and the Fresh Film Festival, and has interviewed headlining acts at festivals such as Electric Picnic and Longitude with Hot Press Magazine . Additional television appearances include High Road Low Road, Ireland’s Comic Relief, and the 2020 New Year’s Sketch Show, all on RTÉ .

Personal Life and Interests

When not performing or broadcasting, Shortt enjoys attending live performances herself, including theatre, comedy, and film. She values spending time with family and friends, particularly when touring allows her to return to Limerick. She also enjoys sea swimming and saunas, and occasionally attends rugby matches, appreciating the atmosphere . A weekend city break to Copenhagen, to experience its fashion week, is a dream destination .

Upcoming Performances

Faye Shortt and her father, Pat, are scheduled to perform Shortt Stuff at the Cork Opera House on March 6th .
