Savannah Guthrie is a well-known host of the Today television program on NBC.

Her mother, Nancy Guthrie (84), was reported missing from her home in Tucson, Arizona on February 1 after she did not show up for virtual church services. She was last seen the night before, after having dinner at another daughter’s home, according to the sheriff’s office.

A masked person with a possible gun holster was caught on camera outside Nancy Guthrie’s front door the night she disappeared, according to the photo released by the FBI on Tuesday.

– Today, the police have uncovered these previously unavailable new photos that show an armed person who apparently tampered with the surveillance camera at Nancy Guthrie’s front door on the night she disappeared, FBI director Kash Patel says on X.

The recording shows a person with a flashlight in his mouth trying to cover the camera with part of a slab that was torn up from Guthrie’s garden. There is no picture showing what has happened to Nancy Guthrie, or whether she is still alive.

DNA samples of blood found on her terrace show that it belonged to the elderly woman, the authorities say.

According to the FBI, the masked person tried to tamper with the video camera, so that the images that have now been made public were recovered by investigators from a back-up system, writes the AP news agency.

Police and news outlets are positioned outside Nancy Guthrie's residence on February 10, 2026 in Tucson, Arizona.
