FC Barcelona Presidential Election: Laporta and Font Vie for Leadership

FC Barcelona members will head to the polls on Sunday, March 15, 2026, to elect their next president. The election pits incumbent Joan Laporta against challenger Víctor Font in a contest that will shape the future direction of the club.

A total of 14,504 FC Barcelona members with voting rights are eligible to participate in the election. Polling stations will be open from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM Central European Time (CET) at five locations:

• Casa de Cultura, Plaza del Hospital 6 (Girona): 5 voting tables

• Delegation of the Catalan Football Federation, Calle Riu Besòs 8 (Lleida): 2 voting tables
• Congress Centre, Plaça del Poble s/n (Andorra la Vella): 1 voting table

Members with a minimum of one year of membership and who are not subject to any suspensions or legal incapacities are eligible to vote. The voting process is universal, allowing members to cast their ballots at any of the five locations regardless of their registered address.

Election Day and Match Schedule

Voting will continue uninterrupted during the FC Barcelona vs. Sevilla FC match, which kicks off at 4:15 PM CET at the Spotify Camp Nou. Stadium gates will open at 2:15 PM CET to accommodate voters before and after the game. Members are encouraged to arrive early to avoid congestion.

Access to the voting area within the Spotify Camp Nou will be through Gates 9 (Avinguda Joan XXIII), 12 and 15 (Avinguda Aristides Maillol). Members are advised to follow signage to reach their designated seats before or after voting.

The Candidates

Both Joan Laporta and Víctor Font successfully met the requirement of gathering 2,337 valid signatures to stand in the election, as confirmed by the Electoral Board according to FC Barcelona’s official website. Marc Ciria did not meet the signature requirements and was not confirmed as a candidate.
