Federal Agents, Protesters Clash in Minneapolis

MINNEAPOLIS – KARE 11 was on scene Monday as federal agents and protesters clashed during a possible immigration raid in south Minneapolis.

Witnesses shared cell phone video with KARE 11, showing the confrontation began when agents tried to remove two women from a vehicle near Pillsbury Avenue and W 29th Street. It’s unclear why agents initially approached the vehicle.

As protesters confronted the agents, a KARE 11 photojournalist recorded video of a snowball being thrown at the agents. This prompted officers to fire what appeared to be pepper ball rounds into the crowd.

“They were just sitting in their car,” a witness said. “They couldn’t get the first person, so they came over here and smashed the window and pulled them out.”
