FC Porto’s Filipe Silva Signs First Professional Contract
Porto, Portugal – March 5, 2026 – FC Porto has announced that 17-year-old defender Filipe Silva has signed his first professional contract with the club. The central defender, who has been with the Dragons since 2017 after joining from AD Taboeira, has committed his future to the Portuguese giants.

“I am very happy to sign my first professional contract. It is with great pride that I sign this contract and receive this vote of confidence from the club. I’m willing to give more and more of myself every day to reach the first team, because this club deserves it. I will continue to work daily to make this happen,” Silva stated to FC Porto media .
Inspired by a Legend
Silva cited Pepe, a former captain and iconic figure at FC Porto, as his biggest inspiration. “My biggest reference is Pepe. Not only because of the way he played, but because of the way he always felt about this club, which made the fans appreciate his work so much. I have to do my best on and off the field, following Pepe’s example,” he added.
Youth Development at FC Porto
Filipe Silva has been a part of FC Porto’s youth system for nine years, progressing through the ranks from AD Taboeira. This season, he has featured in two matches for the club’s Juvenis B team.
Future Aspirations
The young defender expressed his ambition to continue developing and eventually break into the FC Porto first team, playing at the Estádio do Dragão. Despite currently being sidelined with an injury, Silva remains optimistic and determined to earn his place in the senior squad.
