FintechWerx to Showcase AI-Powered Ruby Loans at CCUA 2026 Financial Forum

FintechWerx International Software Services Inc. is bringing its AI-powered lending platform, Ruby Loans, to the Canadian Credit Union Association 2026 Financial Forum in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, running October 4–6, 2026. Fred Zdan, Chief Executive Officer of FinanceWerx Solutions Inc. and founder of Ruby Loans, alongside Steve Mott, Head of Sales for FintechWerx, will meet with credit union leaders to pitch the automation software as a solution for strained small and medium-sized enterprise lending desks.

Addressing the SME Lending Bottleneck

According to Canadian Federation of Independent Business data cited by FintechWerx, the share of small businesses needing financing jumped from 35% in 2012 to 58% in 2022, while nearly one in four Canadian micro-business financing requests are declined. Ruby Loans aims to capture that unmet demand by automating intake, document processing, credit analysis, and decision-ready application preparation through a self-serve borrower portal.

“Credit unions have a tremendous opportunity to grow their SME lending businesses, but the amount of manual work involved in building and reviewing files can limit how much volume their teams can realistically handle,” says Fred Zdan, CEO of FinanceWerx Solutions Inc. “Ruby Loans is designed to remove much of that administrative burden while keeping lending decisions and borrower relationships where they belong: with the credit union.”

Integration and Early Adopter Rollout

Rather than displacing legacy architectures, Ruby Loans integrates directly into an institution’s existing infrastructure, workflows, and lending policies. FintechWerx CEO George Hofsink emphasizes that deployment speed remains a core selling point for credit unions evaluating digital upgrades.

“Credit unions are the core of our Canadian go-to-market for Ruby Loans, and the CCUA Financial Forum puts us directly in front of the people responsible for SME lending,” Hofsink says. “Ruby Loans is built to deploy rapidly and work inside a credit union’s existing lending framework rather than replace it.”

During the Charlottetown conference—which combines the former National Lending Conference, Treasury & Finance Forum, and Commercial Business Forum into a single national event—FintechWerx will also debut its early adopter program. Participating lenders can test the platform against internal requirements, run pilot deployments, and supply product feedback prior to full commercialization.

“Our conversations with credit unions consistently come back to the same issue: they want to grow their commercial and SME portfolios without simply adding more people and more manual processes,” says Steve Mott, Head of Sales for FintechWerx. “Charlottetown gives us an opportunity to demonstrate how Ruby Loans can fit into the systems and lending policies they already have in place.”

Executive Leadership Update

Alongside its product showcase, FintechWerx announced that Nafees Khan has resigned as President of the Company effective immediately. Khan remains on the board of directors. The publicly traded fintech firm (CSE: WERX), which operates out of Vancouver, British Columbia, provides onboarding, payments, identity verification, fraud mitigation, and data services across North America.
