Litoměřice Advances to Semifinals, Slavia Forces Game Five in Czech Hockey Playoffs

HC Stadion Litoměřice secured their spot in the semifinals of the Czech First Hockey League playoffs, defeating VHK ROBE Vsetín 2-1 in overtime. This marks the third consecutive year Litoměřice has reached the semifinal stage. Meanwhile, Slavia Prague extended their quarterfinal series against Zlín to a decisive fifth game with a 3-0 victory.

Litoměřice Completes Series Victory

The hard-fought series between Litoměřice and Vsetín concluded with a 3-1 overall score. In the fourth and final game, Patrik Marcel opened the scoring for Vsetín in the 10th minute. Still, Litoměřice responded with a late equalizer from Jan Kern just 11 seconds before the end of regulation time. The game-winning goal came in overtime courtesy of Vasyl Špilka, capitalizing on a power play at 65:59, securing the victory for Litoměřice. Špilka’s goal was his fourth of the playoffs.

The game was closely contested, with both teams receiving numerous penalties – Litoměřice with 7 and Vsetín with 9. The final attendance at Kalich Arena was 1,575.

Slavia Extends Series with Zlín

Slavia Prague defeated Zlín 3-0, leveling their quarterfinal series at 2-2. Jiří Průžek scored the opening goal for Slavia in the 7th minute, followed by goals from Tomáš Trunda (46th minute) and Jake Gricius (58th minute). Jaroslav Pavelka recorded a shutout for Slavia, his second of the series. The fifth and decisive game will be played in Prague on Sunday at 15:00.

The game was refereed by Horák and Valenta, with linesmen Zídek and Malý. Zlín received 4 penalties to Slavia’s 3, and Slavia had a usage advantage of 0:1.
