Cal Beach Volleyball Duo Fisher and Haughy Named MPSF Pair of the Week

Senior Gia Fisher and junior Ava Haughy of the No. 9 California beach volleyball team have been recognized as the MPSF Pair of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday, March 17, 2026.

Fisher and Haughy, competing as the Golden Bears’ No. 3 pair, delivered a flawless 4-0 performance at the East Meets West Invitational in Manhattan Beach, California. Their impressive run included victories against pairs from nationally ranked opponents – No. 5 Texas, No. 8 Arizona State, No. 12 LSU, and FIU Cal Bears Athletics.

The duo showcased their resilience, securing three of their four wins in closely contested three-set matches. Fisher and Haughy currently hold a season record of 14-3 BVM Sports.

This recognition marks the first time a Cal pair has earned a conference weekly award since Liz Waters-Leiga and Sierra Caffo were honored as the Pac-12 Pair of the Week in 2023 BVM Sports.

The Bears will continue their season at the Death Volley Invitational hosted by LSU.
