FIU Beach Volleyball Set to Compete at Eagle Invitational

FT. MYERS, Fla. – The FIU Beach Volleyball team will travel to Fort Myers, Florida, to participate in the Eagle Invitational on March 20-21, hosted by Florida Gulf Coast University. The Panthers will face a challenging schedule, including a matchup against Conference USA rival Sam Houston.

Tournament Schedule

Friday, March 20

• vs. Florida Gulf Coast: 10 a.m. (FIU leads series 10-3)
• vs. Jacksonville: 4 p.m. (FIU leads series 7-1)

Saturday, March 21

• vs. Sam Houston: 12 p.m. (First Meeting)
• vs. Palm Beach State: 4 p.m.

Team Matchups

FIU will begin the invitational against host school Florida Gulf Coast. The Eagles currently hold a 9-8 record for the season, with a 3-2 performance at the Stetson Tournament. Later on Friday, the Panthers will face Jacksonville, a team they previously lost to earlier in the season, but hold a 7-1 all-time record against.

Saturday’s competition will feature a first-time matchup against Conference USA opponent Sam Houston, who currently has a 1-10 record, with their sole win against Nicholls. The invitational will conclude with a game against Palm Beach State, a team FIU has already defeated this season with a score of 5-0.
