Flash Floods Trap Residents in Central Tapanuli Forest

around 50 residents are trapped in the forest due to flash floods hitting Central Tapanuli Regency, North sumatra. The group includes seniors and even babies.

A video shows numerous people in the forest, wearing raincoats, using umbrellas, and covering themselves with plastic and cloth to shield from the heavy rain. People of all ages are present, and many are calling for help.

“Mr. Regent, help us! We’re stuck in the middle of this forest, with landslides on both sides. There’s no way out,” a man says in the video.

The videographer states approximately 50 people are trapped. An elderly woman can be heard crying and pleading for assistance.

“help us,help!” the woman cries out.

Rosmawati Zebua (30), a family member of a trapped resident, says the incident occurred in Huta Bolon Village, Tukka district. She reports that seven of her family members are among those stranded in the forest, including her
