Flikken Rotterdam Star Ortál Vriend on Saying Goodbye to Castmates

“I arrived there as a youngster, had just graduated and learned a lot there”

Has been for years Cops Rotterdam a permanent part of Ortál‘s life. Another season will be broadcast before AVROTROS pulls the plug due to budget cuts. “You don’t necessarily notice that there is a different atmosphere, but you do feel that this is the last time we will do this together,” she shares about the recordings.

That feeling is reinforced by the bond that has developed between the cast and crew over the years. “It gives a different meaning that you are doing it for the last time in this setting, with these people. It has become a kind of family.”

The farewell also means a lot to her personally. Ortál started with the series when she just left drama school. “I’m especially excited that it’s ending. I’ve been doing it for a number of years now, I think about seven or eight seasons. I arrived there as a youngster, had just graduated, and learned a lot there.”

No matter how difficult the goodbye is, Ortál also feels room for something new. “You really become very close with each other and it is just that stability that I have every year. That does not alter the fact that I am very much looking forward to other things coming my way.”

Huub Stapel, who left the series after controversy, is not sad about the end of Cops Rotterdam.

The Cute Guest can be seen every Saturday at 9:20 PM on NPO 2.
