MIAMI LAKES,Fla. – Florida Rep. Tom Fabricio wants to end Florida’s license plate registration stickers, and he has the backing of Gov. Ron DeSantis.

Fabricio, a Republican from Miami Lakes, filed the Florida House Bill 841 – Motor Vehicle Registration Renewal on Dec. 19.

“Good job Tom – get it done,” DeSantis wrote to Fabricio on Dec.21 on X.

Florida Sen. Ana Maria Rodriguez filed the related Florida Senate Bill 982. if passed, the new law would require “renewal to be recorded electronically” and remove “provisions relating to validation stickers.”

“You would still have to pay to renew your registration every year,” Fabricio said. “You just wouldn’t have to keep peeling off and replacing the yellow sticker.”
