China Southern Airlines Launches Direct Flights Between Guangzhou and Madrid

China Southern Airlines has introduced direct flights connecting Guangzhou and Madrid, marking a significant development in air travel between China and Spain. The new service, launched in December 2025, provides travelers with a direct link between the two cities, enhancing tourism and cultural exchange.

Guangzhou serves as a gateway to southern China, offering access to regional destinations such as Zhaoqing. From Guangzhou, high-speed trains connect to Zhaoqing in approximately 32 minutes, with frequent daily services available. Zhaoqing is renowned for its natural attractions, including the Seven Star Crags—a scenic area featuring limestone peaks arranged like the Big Dipper on a clear lake surface, often described as a “First Wonder of Lingnan.”

The direct flight route strengthens bilateral travel options, supporting both leisure and business travelers seeking efficient connections between Europe and China. By reducing travel time and improving accessibility, the service contributes to growing people-to-people exchanges between the two regions.

Travelers can now fly directly from Madrid to Guangzhou and continue to nearby destinations like Zhaoqing via high-speed rail, combining air and ground transportation for a seamless journey.
