The band kicked off their Irish appearances with an exceptionally intimate concert at St. James’ Church in Dingle, County Kerry, on February 22nd, 2026. The venue, seating around 80 people, provided a uniquely euphoric experience for those lucky enough to attend. This performance holds particular significance as Dave Grohl previously visited Kerry after the death of Kurt Cobain, seeking solace and inspiration. He famously encountered a fan wearing a Kurt Cobain t-shirt, a moment that prompted him to return to the US and form the Foo Fighters Irish Times.
Last-Minute Dublin Gig Draws Massive Crowds
Following the Dingle performance, the Foo Fighters announced a last-minute gig at The Academy in Dublin on February 23rd, 2026. Tickets, priced at €99 including fees, went on sale at the 3Olympia Theatre Box Office and sold out rapidly RTÉ. Large queues formed early in the morning, demonstrating the band’s continued popularity. The concert was limited to those aged 18 and over, and only physical debit or credit cards were accepted for ticket purchases Dublin Live.
New Album and Reflection on Taylor Hawkins
