Former Brosna Garda Station Sold for €200,000 at Auction

The former Garda station in Brosna, County Kerry, was sold for €200,000 at an online auction yesterday, February 27, 2026, according to Radio Kerry. The detached, two-story building, located in the center of the village, had been closed since January 2013.

Station’s History and Transfer to OPW

Following its closure in 2013, the property was transferred to the Office of Public Works (OPW). For 13 years, state bodies were offered the opportunity to acquire the site, but no acquisition took place, despite consideration from Kerry County Council on two separate occasions. Concerns Over Vacant Buildings

The building had been vacant for a significant period, prompting concerns about wasteful spending.
