Republican U.S. Senate candidate Mike Collins faces fresh scrutiny in Georgia after a former campaign staffer and PAC contractor was exposed for posting Ku Klux Klan and Nazi imagery online, according to reporting by Liz Goodwin and Olivia George of The Washington Post. The controversy centers on 24-year-old Preston Parra, who briefly interned for Collins in 2024 and worked as a contractor for the congressman’s political action committee in 2025.

Background on Preston Parra’s Online Posts

Federal campaign finance records show Parra was paid $7,700 by Collins’ PAC before the congressman launched his current Senate bid, as reported by The Washington Post. According to screenshots and reporting from Mediaite and The Washington Post, Parra’s online activity included writing the phrase “DEUTCHLAND UBER ALLES”—a misspelling of a German national anthem verse associated with the Nazi era—alongside using racial slurs against Black people and repeatedly posting the phrase “White Power.”

Additional posts highlighted by reporters included an image showing Parra wearing what appeared to be Ku Klux Klan robes, alongside a social media post that used the word “TWINK” to form a swastika. Parra’s digital footprint also included describing himself online as a “racist” and a “twink fascist,” according to coverage by The New Republic and Advocate.com.

Parra’s Response to the Allegations

When contacted by The Washington Post for comment, Parra claimed that the KKK image was generated using the Grok AI feature on Elon Musk’s X platform. Parra maintained that this image and the majority of his offensive posts were intended as “satire.”

Parra stated that he had since made his social media accounts private and that Collins was unaware of the posts, according to The Washington Post. While arguing to reporters that he is “not a white supremacist because it goes against his religion and he has a Colombian father,” Parra also acknowledged in his remarks to the newspaper, “I do think that the white race contributes more to the world.”

Political Impact on Mike Collins’ Senate Campaign

The disclosure compounds political complications for Collins, who is the Republican nominee challenging incumbent Democratic Senator Jon Ossoff in Georgia, according to Mediaite. Election forecasting outlets, including Larry Sabato’s Crystal Ball at the University of Virginia’s Center for Politics and analyst Nate Silver, have shifted the race rating to “Likely Democratic” as Ossoff maintains a substantial fundraising advantage.

The incident follows a separate controversy from July, when CNN’s Andrew Kaczynski and Em Steck reported that Collins’ son-in-law, David Alan Scheer II, promoted the white nationalist group Patriot Front, shared antisemitic conspiracy theories, and called for the deportation of Muslims. During a late-July press conference addressing those reports, Collins declined to answer reporters’ questions, criticized Ossoff instead, and abruptly walked away from the podium.

The Washington Post noted that Collins’ campaign did not respond to inquiries regarding whether the congressman stood by his previous endorsement of Parra’s work. The latest revelations have drawn bipartisan criticism, with regional observers noting a recurring pattern regarding associates within the congressman’s political circle.
