Yaqut Mum After Lengthy KPK Questioning

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Former Minister of Religion Yaqut cholil Qoumas offered few details when questioned by reporters after nearly 8.5 hours of questioning by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) in the Hajj quota corruption case, Tuesday, December 16, 2025.

Yaqut arrived at the KPK headquarters at 11:41 AM WIB and didn’t leave until 8:13 PM WIB. That’s a long session.

“Please direct your questions to the investigators. Ask them directly. You can ask them later,” Yaqut stated briefly as he exited the KPK building Tuesday evening.

Yaqut again avoided providing details when pressed about the KPK’s findings in Saudi Arabia related to the 2024 Hajj quota case. He consistently deferred to the investigators.

He reiterated his request for journalists to seek answers from the KPK regarding the examination’s results.
