Forza Horizon 6 Races onto Xbox and PC with a Japanese Setting
The next installment in the popular Forza Horizon series, Forza Horizon 6, is officially set in Japan and is slated for release on Xbox Series X|S and PC in May 2026, with a PlayStation 5 version following later in the year. The game was formally announced during the Xbox Tokyo Game Demonstrate broadcast in September 2025 .
Japan as the New Horizon
Forza Horizon 6 will feature both urban environments like Tokyo and the country’s rural landscapes, including Mount Fuji . Developers at Playground Games have stated that Tokyo City will be the “most complex and intricate space of drivable area in a Horizon game yet” . The game’s seasonal changes, a staple of the series, will also return .
Gameplay Showcase and Release Dates
A nine-minute exclusive gameplay clip, released on March 5, 2026, showcases a Saleen S7 navigating portions of the Japan-based map, including rural countryside and sections of Tokyo .
Forza Horizon 6 will launch on May 19, 2026, for Xbox Series X|S and PC via the Microsoft Store and Steam. Players who purchase the Premium Edition will gain Early Access starting May 15, 2026 . A PlayStation 5 release will follow post-launch .
