UMD Volleyball Players Recognized for Academic Excellence
university of Minnesota duluth volleyball student-athletes Paige Decker, Madeline Guetzkow, Ava Jones, and Madison Reed have been named to the 2025 CSC Academic All-District® Volleyball Team for NCAA Division II. The announcement came from the association earlier today.
These teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, celebrate student-athletes who excel both on the court and in their studies. The CSC Academic All-America® program will further recognize honorees across four divisions: NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA.
Paige Decker secured her first CSC Academic All-District® honor with a stellar 3.83 GPA as a Biology major. She’s now a candidate for Academic All-america® recognition. Decker is a two-time Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) Academic Team of Excellence honoree and a two-time NSIC All-Academic Team member. She’s consistently made the Swenson College of Science and Engineering Dean’s List for four semesters.
Despite missing six matches due to injury, Decker led the Bulldogs in blocks per set (0.83), total blocks (66), and block assists (62). She earned 2025 All-NSIC second Team honors for her performance. Her .355 hitting percentage placed her sixth in the NSIC, and her 0.83 blocks per set tied for 12th in the league. Decker consistently performed at a high level, hitting .500 or better in seven matches and .400 or better in nine.
Guetzkow, Jones, and Reed will also advance to the Academic All-America® ballot. More facts on their achievements will be released shortly.
