According to People en Español, Fernando Mendoza stands as the most notable addition to the 2026 roster. The Cuban-American quarterback and former Indiana University player was selected with the first overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft on April 24 by the Las Vegas Raiders, marking a major milestone for Cuban-American athletes in professional sports.

Before entering the NFL, Mendoza recorded strong numbers during his final college season with Indiana. According to source reports, he completed 273 of 379 passes for 3,535 yards, 41 touchdowns, and six interceptions.
