The Fondo de la Vivienda del Instituto de Seguridad y Servicios Sociales de los Trabajadores del Estado (FOVISSSTE) launched a mobile outreach initiative on September 23, 2026, bringing housing credit services directly to the offices of the Procuraduría Federal del Consumidor (Profeco).
Mobile Outreach Targets Hundreds of Profeco Workers
According to FOVISSSTE, the two-day service camp allows public servants to check credit statuses, print updated statements, and update personal data without traveling to a permanent regional office. Jabnely Maldonado Meza, executive vocal of FOVISSSTE, and Iván Escalante, federal consumer prosecutor, inaugurated the temporary module at Profeco headquarters.
The program specifically targets an institution where 800 employees currently hold active housing loans, while another 2,000 workers qualify to apply for them, according to data provided by Profeco. Maldonado Meza stated that the agency prioritizes its membership through three core mechanisms: the office visitation program, community outreach targeting remote municipalities up to three hours away from standard branches, and a targeted data-update campaign.
Bringing Government Services Directly to Staff
Federal consumer prosecutor Iván Escalante emphasized that the collaboration eliminates bureaucratic barriers by meeting employees at their workplaces. According to Escalante, an accessible government brings information and administrative support straight to where citizens perform their daily routines rather than waiting for applicants to initiate contact.
The temporary service point remains open through Thursday. FOVISSSTE officials confirmed that the outreach strategy will continue deploying temporary modules to strengthen direct communication with public sector borrowers across the country.
