The coach of the French team, Frédéric Fauthoux (also coach of Bourg-en-Bresse), revealed on Monday February 9, 2026 the list of fourteen players called up for the next qualifying window for the 2027 Basketball World Cup. The Blues will go to challenge Hungary at home, in Szombathely, on Friday February 27 (6 p.m.), before receiving this same training on the floor of Antarès, at Le Mans, Sunday 1is March 2026 (also 6 p.m.).
For these two meetings, the selection – which does not include a Manceau – is mainly made up of players playing in the French championship: the Choletais Gérald Ayayi and Nathan De Sousa, the Nanterriens Mathis Dossou-Yovo, Benjamin Sene and Paul Lacombe, the Parisian Amath M’baye and the Burgien Adam Mokoka will rub shoulders with Axel Bouteille (Buducnost, Montenegro), Amine Noua (Aris Salonika, Greece) and Yves Pons (Andorra, Spain) from the start of the course, from Monday February 23 in Nanterre.
This group of eleven elements will then be joined by the three Euroleague players summoned. First Sylvain Francisco (Zalgiris Kaunas, Lithuania), who will join Hungary on Thursday February 26, then Élie Okobo (Monaco) and Jaylen Hoard (Maccabi Tel-Aviv), who will arrive at Le Mans on Saturday February 28. Two training partners, Hugo Yimga-Moukouri (Nanterre) and Talis Soulhac (Blois), will also participate in the course.
Only twelve of the fourteen conscripts will be able to be lined up for the reception of the Hungarians.

The 2027 World Cup will take place in Qatar, from August 17 to September 12, 2027. In group G, France has so far one victory (against Belgium) and one defeat (in Finland) while Hungary is still undefeated. The top three in the group will qualify for a second group stage: the first three in each of the four groups will go to Qatar.
