French Commission on Incest and Sexual Violence to Hold Hearings with Associations and Legal Professionals

The French National Assembly’s commission of inquiry into incest and sexual violence will convene a series of hearings this week, bringing together key stakeholders including association representatives and legal professionals. The hearings, scheduled from February 24th to February 26th, 2026, aim to gather insights and perspectives to inform policy and improve responses to these critical issues.

Tuesday, February 24, 2026

The commission will begin with a hearing featuring Ms. Maryse Le Men-Régnier, director of the CIIVISE (Commission indépendante sur l’inceste et les violences sexuelles faites aux enfants), and Mr. Denis Roth-Fichet, the general secretary of the commission. The hearing is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m.

A round table discussion will be held at 3:00 p.m. With representatives from several associations dedicated to preventing and addressing incest and sexual violence. Participants include:

• Ms. Cécile Desmoulin, president of the association SOS Inceste
• Ms. Sihem Ghars, founder of the Incesticide France collective
• Mr. Pascal Cussigh, president of the CDP Enfance association
• Ms. Céline Pioger, president of the Protect the Child association
• Ms. Solène Rietzler, public relations project manager
• Mme Maryannick Van Den Abee, victim support representative
• Mme Samira Benhamida, president of the Tricoteuses de France collective
• Ms. Saïrati Assimakou, president of the association Dare to free your speech

Thursday’s sessions will focus on legal perspectives and journalistic insights.

• 9:30 a.m.: Round table with lawyers including Me Christine Closed, Me Marie Coiffard, Me Myriam Guedj Benayoun, Me Marie Grimaud, Me Agathe Morel, and Me Rebecca Royer.
• 2:30 p.m.: Hearing of Mrs. Romane Brisard, a journalist.
• 4:00 p.m.: Round table with representatives from the following associations: Pare Ora Association (delegation to be specified), Ms. Fabienne Sainte-Rose, founder of the association of a thousand and one victims of incest and trauma (LAMEVIT), Mme Lydia Barnoud, founding director of the CIDE collective, Ms. Eloise Bergeon, president of the Family University of Vienne, Mme Suzanne Frugier, member of the 160,000 children collective, Ms. Aude Doumenge, advocacy manager within the association Face à l’inceste, and Ms. Michèle Créoff, member of the office.
