France Qualifies for 2026 FIBA Women’s World Cup

The French women’s basketball team has secured qualification for the 2026 FIBA Women’s World Cup, which will be held in Berlin from September 4th to 13th. This qualification was confirmed several hours before their match against Germany on Saturday, March 14th, in Villeurbanne (8:30 p.m. Local time), following defeats of the Philippines (101-84 against Nigeria) and Colombia (82-52 against South Korea).
With two wins and no losses, the French team is guaranteed to finish ahead of the Philippines and Colombia, both of whom they have defeated and have only two matches remaining.
Following the game against Germany, France will face Nigeria on Sunday, March 15th, and South Korea on Tuesday, March 17th, to conclude the qualifying tournament they are hosting.
