The late Dutch actor Joost Prinsen reached out to close friend and fellow actor Frank Lammers for relationship advice after feeling he did not see newsreader Noraly Beyer often enough, according to Lammers.
Prinsen and Beyer shared a relationship in their later years that Lammers described as one of the most beautiful love stories of recent times. Prinsen passed away in 2025.
Seeking Advice From a Close Friend
In an episode of the Omroep Brabant podcast Ni Na Lammers Listen, hosted alongside Nina van den Broek, Lammers recounted a phone call he received from Prinsen during the romance. Prinsen told him that he was deeply in love with Beyer, but felt frustrated by how infrequently they spent time together.
"I’m with Noraly now," Prinsen told Lammers, according to the podcast. "But I actually think I see her far too little. I think she is far too busy."
Lammers responded directly to his friend’s concerns. "Joost, you never have a woman like Noraly all to yourself," Lammers told him. "She has appointments, does things, speaks to people. Sometimes you just have to wait your turn again."
Lammers recalled that Prinsen immediately accepted the perspective. "You’re right, my boy, thank you," Prinsen replied before hanging up.
Reflecting on a Late-Life Romance
Reflecting on the relationship, Lammers shared a sense of nostalgia and admiration for the couple, who found each other when they were both around the age of eighty.
"That was one of the most beautiful love histories of recent years," Lammers said on the program. "They were both around eighty. That you can still find love at that age, isn’t that fantastic?"
