Golfer Frankie Harris shot a 12-under 59 during the final round and secured his first Korn Ferry Tour title by winning a playoff at the Pinnacle Bank Championship on Sunday in Omaha, Nebraska, according to the Associated Press (AP). Harris made an 18-foot birdie putt on the final hole of regulation at The Club at Indian Creek to cap off a 27 on the back nine, securing his victory on the second playoff hole with a par.

Harris entered the tournament as his sixth start of the year on the Korn Ferry Tour, according to the AP. During his final round, he made just over 153 feet of putts. Speaking to the AP after his round, Harris admitted he was unaware of his score as he approached the final green. “The thought of a 59 never even crossed my mind. Honestly, like 100% honesty, I did not know I shot a 59 when I made that putt on 18,” Harris said. “I knew I was playing well, but I was just trying to keep the pedal on the gas and finish strong.”
The victory moved Harris to No. 29 on the points list, with the top 20 at the end of the season earning PGA Tour cards for 2027, as reported by the AP. Harris previously ended his college career at South Carolina, finishing at No. 9 in the PGA Tour University ranking, which earned him conditional status on the Korn Ferry Tour and full status on the PGA Tour Americas.
The Dramatic Playoff Finish Against Alistair Docherty
Alistair Docherty pushed Harris to the limit by charging up the leaderboard late in the round. According to the AP, Docherty was coming off a birdie on the 15th hole when Harris posted his 22-under 262 total. Harris birdied the final three holes, highlighted by a 53-foot putt on the 16th hole, finishing with a round of 64 to force a playoff.
Harris told the AP that he and his caddie initially considered celebrating before realizing Docherty’s late charge. “I was ready to crack my first beer once I finished the round, but then my caddie and I made a smart choice not do that because Alistair came in real hot,” Harris said. After heading to the driving range to warm back up upon hearing the crowd cheer for Docherty’s birdie on the 17th hole, Harris prepared for the extra holes. On the second playoff hole at the 18th, Docherty hit his approach long of the green, chipped to six feet, and missed his par putt, allowing Harris to secure the title with a par.
With this performance, Harris became the fourth player in the last six weeks to shoot a 59 on the tour and the ninth player worldwide to record a sub-60 final round while winning the tournament, according to AP reports.
