French Hiking Federation mobilizes nationwide for October Rose
French hiking clubs and committees are blanketing the country this month with solidarity walks, pink marches, and coastal fitness sessions. The nationwide mobilization aims to drive breast cancer awareness and funnel vital resources into medical research.
Outdoor sports intersect directly with philanthropy on these routes.
Opening weekend launches regional gatherings
The schedule kicked off during the first weekend of October with a flurry of regional events.
On Friday, October 2, the town of La Riche in Indre-et-Loire hosted a pink march. The following day, Saturday, October 3, the Rando Caouaise club organized a Nordic walking session in the Somme department.
Sunday, October 4, brought several concurrent events. Loire-et-Cher hosted two solidarity walks in Rougou and Vineuil. Moreuil in the Somme held a solidarity walk, while the Rando Loisirs Coullons club organized a pink march in Coullons, Loiret.
The opening Sunday also featured a Rando Rose in La Charité-sur-Loire, Nièvre, a hike led by the Rando Brézins club in Brézins, Isère, and the fourth edition of the Randos Octobre Rose in Binic, Côtes-d’Armor.

Montigny-le-Bretonneux in the Yvelines follows on Saturday, October 10, hosting “Marchons ensemble pour octobre Rose”—a day of endurance walks, hikes, Nordic walking, and health walks to benefit the League Against Cancer. Varennes-Vauzelles is simultaneously holding a day of hikes.
Mandelieu-la-Napoule in the Alpes-Maritimes is staging a trail longe côte organized by the Trail longe côte Napoule club, an initiative that won the 2026 Club Trophies. Falicon Oxygène is offering longe côte introductory sessions in Villefranche-sur-Mer. Simultaneously, Nièvre is holding a Rando Rose in Corbigny, and the Marcheurs de la Gohelle club is running its 27th “Lacs et Terrils” hike in the Pas-de-Calais under the Pink October banner.
Closing events wrap up the October calendar
The campaign continues deep into the autumn calendar.
The Gardons la Forme club is organizing a solidarity walk on Saturday, October 17, in Domart-sur-la-Luce, Somme. Hiking clubs raise funds for medical research
For those looking to join the movement, participants can check the websites and social media channels of local hiking clubs and departmental committees affiliated with the French Hiking Federation.
The featured sports program spans traditional hiking, endurance walking, Nordic walking, fast hiking, and coastal wading (longe côte). Funds raised during these hikes support medical research and breast cancer awareness, with specific events contributing directly to organizations such as the League Against Cancer.
