Friday Night Baseball on Apple TV Returns for 2026 Season

Apple TV+ will once again be the exclusive home for Major League Baseball (MLB) doubleheaders with the return of “Friday Night Baseball” on March 27, 2026, marking its fifth season. The weekly series will feature enhanced production quality, expert commentary and no local broadcast restrictions, available to Apple TV subscribers throughout the 2026 regular season.

Opening Weekend Matchups

The season kicks off with two exciting matchups on Friday, March 27th:

  • Los Angeles Angels at Houston Astros – 8:15 p.m. ET
  • Cleveland Guardians at Seattle Mariners – 9:45 p.m. ET

Broadcast Team

For the fourth consecutive season, viewers can expect commentary from Wayne Randazzo, Dontrelle Willis, and Heidi Watney, as well as Alex Faust, Ryan Spilborghs, and Tricia Whitaker. Rich Waltz will similarly join the broadcast team for select games throughout the season.

Expanded MLB Content on Apple TV

Beginning on Opening Day, March 26th, Apple TV will offer more than just “Friday Night Baseball.” Fans in the U.S. Can enjoy the “MLB Large Inning” whip-around show, providing live look-ins and in-game highlights every weeknight. Additional content includes “Countdown to First Pitch,” “MLB Daily Recap,” and “MLB This Week.” Game recaps, classic games, highlights, and interviews are also available free on the Apple TV app.

iPhone 17 Pro Integration and Hall of Fame Recognition

Apple continues to innovate its broadcasts, integrating the iPhone 17 Pro into live production workflows. The device was first used as a primary camera during a game on the final Friday of the 2025 MLB regular season, and has since been added to the permanent collection of the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York. iPhone integration will continue throughout the 2026 season for select games.
