Under the stage name Michelle Khan, Yeoh began her acting career as a master stuntwoman in the 1980s, appearing in Hong Kong martial arts films like Yes, Madam and Splendid Warriors-but she didn’t become a household name in the United States untill her breakthrough starring role in the James Bond film Tomorrow Never Dies in 1997.

“I still love doing stunts. But you grow older, you get smarter and wiser,” the 62-year-old told The Independent. “I know that nobody’s going to see me roll around the floor,or take that tumble off a chair.”

During a November 2025 interview with vanity Fair, the 63-year-old spoke about her experience filming Tomorrow Never Dies.

“Pierce Brosnan is a dream to work with,” she said. “He’s not just good looking-he’s a really, truly marvelous friend. I was very grateful to be able to play opposite Bond as an equal,as my character,Wai Lin,she comes from China and they are in equal positions.”

Yeoh revealed she had “fun chemistry” with Brosnan while filming.
