Khrys Ramos of the Grammy-nominated regional Mexican band Fuerza Regida chose to eat a level ten spicy wing rather than claim New York has superior Mexican food to California during an appearance on Hot Ones: Wing Pong, Yahoo reported. The decision occurred during a challenge where bandmates pressured Ramos to alienate his West Coast fan base for the sake of the game.
Khrys Ramos rejects New York Mexican food claim
The confrontation began when band member Moisés López landed a hit during the game, prompting a dare for Ramos. According to the video, Ramos read a cue card asking him to look into the camera and admit that New York’s Mexican food is better than California’s.
José “Pelón” García and López both pressured Ramos to make the admission, with García asking if Ramos was going to lie and López warning that he would send Mexican people to go crazy if the dare wasn’t met. After receiving further convincing from frontman Jesús “JOP” Ortiz Paz and teammate Sammy Jáimez, Ramos refused to disrespect California and instead ate a level ten spicy wing without hesitation.
