According to campaign organizer Matvii Ushakov, the 22-year-old athlete requires specialized therapies, mobility aids, and accessible transport not covered by insurance or public support, with an initial fundraising goal of 100,000 Swiss francs.

Crash at Fiorenzuola Triggers Urgent Medical Transfer

The incident occurred on July 22, 2026, during the elite women’s elimination race at the International Grand Prix of Fiorenzuola, according to event reports. Following the severe crash on the track, Kolyzhuk was transported by helicopter to the hospital in Parma, where medical teams performed emergency surgery for a severe spinal injury, as detailed by AS Florentia and cycling outlet Ciclismoweb.net. After the initial operation in Italy, medical staff transferred her via helicopter to Switzerland to begin specialized therapeutic care.

GoFundMe Campaign Details and Financial Goals

To support the long-term recovery process, fellow cyclist Matvii Ushakov organized a personal fundraising campaign on GoFundMe with Kolyzhuk’s written consent. The campaign aims to raise 100,000 Swiss francs (approximately 100,000 euros) to fund ongoing physiotherapy, adaptive mobility equipment, personal assistance, and necessary home modifications. According to the campaign organizers, the funds are dedicated strictly to medical and accessibility expenses resulting from the cycling crash and operate independently of any humanitarian efforts or war relief funds in Ukraine.

“Non molto tempo fa, vivevo il mio sogno e andavo in bicicletta tutti i giorni. Oggi, sto imparando a vivere di nuovo. Non chiedo indietro il mio passato, chiedo aiuto per costruire il mio futuro,” Kolyzhuk wrote in her public statement on the fundraising platform.

Athletic Background and Verification Process

Kolyzhuk competes as a road and track cyclist and is a member of the WCC Team. In 2022, she earned a silver medal at the UCI Junior Track Cycling World Championships. Organizers confirmed that Kolyzhuk is listed on GoFundMe as the sole verified beneficiary, and all contributions will be transferred directly to her Swiss bank account once platform verification is complete.
