Ena Mooney: A Party of Life and Remembrance
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Ena Mooney, formerly of Newry, who died peacefully on January 11th, 2026, at Aughnacloy Care Home in Lurgan.Ena’s life was marked by a quiet dignity and a loving spirit that touched all who knew her.
Born to the late John Patrick and Nan Mooney, Ena was a cherished member of her family. She is lovingly remembered by her sister, Sheila, her brother, Aiden, and predeceased by her brothers, Arthur and Owen. Her memory will also be held dear by her sister-in-law, Pat Mooney, along with a wide circle of cousins, nephews, and nieces who benefitted from her kindness and warmth.
Ena’s remains will be reposing at Charles Digney and Sons Funeral Home, located at 4 Sugarhouse Quay, Newry, on Monday from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday at 1:00 PM in St. Mary’s Church, Barr, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.
