The fire was first reported around 8:30 p.m. On March 22, 2026, at the automotive glass manufacturing complex located on West Stroop Road. Flames were visible from the roof of the facility and continued to burn after midnight. Fire officials indicated the blaze originated in the newer section of the plant, where additional manufacturing lines were being installed. Smoke was reported in surrounding areas, including Kettering, Moraine, and Miami Township, leading to the closure of nearby roads such as parts of Dixie Drive.
Fortunately, no injuries to employees or firefighters have been reported as a result of the fire. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation, with initial reports suggesting roofing materials were a significant contributing factor.

The Moraine facility has a long history as a major industrial site in the region. Originally home to General Motors and other manufacturers, the plant was purchased by Fuyao Glass Industry Group in 2014 after General Motors ceased operations.
