Gabriel Moses’ ‘Selah’ Exhibition Captivates at 180 Studios

London-based artist Gabriel Moses is currently showcasing his largest exhibition to date, ‘Selah,’ at 180 Studios. The exhibition, which features over 70 photographs and 10 films, delves into Moses’ work across fashion, music, and sport, and includes the premiere of his recent short film, The Last Hour.

A Career Retrospective

Spanning two floors, ‘Selah’ offers an immersive experience into Moses’ artistic journey. The exhibition builds upon his previous solo demonstrate, Regina, held at 180 Studios in 2023. Moses notes he has “grown a lot in those two years” and “developed more as an artist,” aiming to create a more interactive and immersive show 180 Studios.

Exploring Themes of Identity and Culture

Moses’ work is deeply rooted in his British-Nigerian heritage, characterized by a rich color palette and minimal contextual detail. His emotive and soulful images reflect on personal history, cultural signifiers, and memory. He often pays tribute to the women who have shaped him – his grandmother, mother, and sister – who first introduced him to art and fashion 1854 Photography.

The Last Hour: A New Short Film

A key highlight of ‘Selah’ is the premiere of The Last Hour, a short film shot in Atlanta, Georgia. The film, commissioned by 180 Studios and executive produced by Division and Goat, follows a man’s journey to finding solace in solitude while seeking redemption 180 Studios.

Collaboration and Recognition

Moses has collaborated with prominent figures in the music and fashion industries, including Travis Scott, Louis Vuitton, and Pharrell Williams. His work has been featured in films and music videos such as Fein by Travis Scott and Playboi Carti, and Lost Times by Schoolboy Q. He has as well created portraits of notable individuals like Slawn, Skepta, Alek Wek, and Jude Bellingham 180 Studios.
